Lecturer Université de Montréal Saint-Roch de l'Achigan, Quebec, Canada
Session Description: I am proposing to give a half-day short course about the following topics in statistical analysis of community ecology data:
• "Spatial and temporal beta diversity analysis of community data"
Outline – 1.
Introduction: Origin of spatial structures in ecosystems 2. Partitioning beta diversity in landscape ecology and genetics 3. Temporal beta diversity analysis
I will offer practical exercises in the R language for the proposed course, • The exercises on spatial beta diversity will be based on exercises from our book "Numerical ecology in R" (Borcard, GIllet & Legendre 2018). • The exercises on temporal beta diversity will use a series of exercises that I developed for another course given to the researchers of the iAtlantic international project in June 2021. About 45 minutes will be devoted to these exercises. Participants will be assumed to be already familiar with R. They should be asked to being their own computer.
