MSc Candidate
University of British Columbia, Canada
Rory Macklin is a Master's Candidate in Dr. Jill Jankowski's lab at the Department of Zoology at the University of British Columbia. After finishing his Bachelors Degree in Biology, with a Minor in Statistics, at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Rory returned to the BC coast and became interested in the differences between mainland and island bird populations. After growing up on Vancouver Island and becoming very familiar with the assemblages there, a move to Vancouver highlighted how these nearby locations differed in some interesting ways. Now, Rory is interested in investigating the processes which have created these differences, and how Vancouver Island's particular assemblages may be altered by climate change-driven dispersal. Aside from these interests, Rory is an avid birder, music-lover, and Pokemon fan.
