Aura is a PhD candidate at the University of Vermont Rubenstein School as well as a graduate fellow at the Gund Institute for the Environment. Her research has broadly focused on understanding how human activities and global change impact biodiversity and ecosystem services. She is passionate about applying ecological research to solving real-world problems in tropical agricultural landscapes. Before moving to Vermont, Aura launched and managed a climate change experiment with the US Forest Service in Puerto Rico. She has a B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences and Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, and a M.Sc. in Tropical Forest Management and Conservation from CATIE in Costa Rica.
