Jackie Hamliton is a PhD student in natural resource sciences at McGill University. She draws from an interdisciplinary academic background in conservation and urban forestry and several years of working in research at not-for-profit and local government agencies in Ontario. Jackie is investigating ecosystem service indicators and hopes to find ways to better link ecosystem monitoring and accounting in Canada. Jackie was attracted to the study of ecosystem services by the potential she saw in more explicitly considering nature's many benefits and the potential this could hold for informing more sustainable and just decision making.
