COL (Ret) Robert A. Mazzoli, MD FACS is a retired Army ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive and orbital surgeon. He is a Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. A West Point graduate, he served over 34 years in uniform as both a line and medical officer, holding numerous leadership positions from line Platoon Leader and Executive Officer to medical unit Commander, culminating as Chairman of Ophthalmology at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, WA, and Consultant in Ophthalmology to The Surgeon General of the Army during the height of the Global War on Terrorism. His current positions include National Ophthalmic Specialty Chair to the American College of Surgeons’ Central Committee on Trauma and the Executive Council of the American Society of Ophthalmic Trauma.
