Terry began EMS, while attending college and volunteering as a technical rescuer with the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group, and as a Ski Patroller.
Terry started his career in a rural combination department and served as a paramedic, chief officer, investigator, multi-discipline Fire/EMS instructor, and an emergency manager, retiring as chief after a 22-years.
Terry continues to support departments, as the EMS Programs Specialist in the Office of EMS for the State of Alaska. Projects include developing and focusing on healthcare partnerships addressing community needs with developing MIH and telehealth to address health disparities.
Terry believes strongly in "work / life" balance. This summer Terry plans to ride his motorcycle accross much of Alaska and up the Dalton Highway, "the Haul Road" to Prudhoe Bay.
