Kaiz S. Asif, MD, FSVIN is a Neuroendovascular Surgeon and Stroke Neurologist based in Chicago. He is the medical director of Ascension, IL, and has helped establish prehospital systems in Chicagoland as the Chair of the Regional EMS Stroke Sub-Committee. He is intensely involved with national and international stroke organizations focusing on improving access to acute stroke care globally, especially to mechanical thrombectomy. He is the vice-chair of the education committee of the society of vascular and interventional neurology (SVIN) and a core member of the stroke process efficiency and EMS committee at SVIN. He has led the collaboration with EMS World to survey national EMS personnel to assess the educational needs in terms of prehospital management and triage of stroke.
