My name is Amandine Aka, I am a third year PhD student in Institut Necker Enfants-Malades in Paris (France), in the team of Fabiola Terzi “Mechanisms and therapeutic strategies of chronic kidney disease” under the supervision of Frank Bienaimé.
My aim of research is to understand the role of primary cilia whithin renal inflammation and scarring. The Unilateral Ureteral Obstruction (UUO) is an experimental model of chronic kidney disease that combines kidney inflammation, fibrosis and tubular dilatations. This model was chosen in my lab in order to study the role of primary cilia in a context of renal diseases. In this context, my PhD project is focused in understanding how obstruction can affects cilia structure and function in kidney.
Looking forward to connect with all of you to share and discuss great science!
