Abby Hielscher received her PhD from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and has held faculty appointments at the Georgia-Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Larner College of Medicine in Burlington, VT (current position). She currently directs the anatomy component of the curriculum for the first-year medical students, participates in teaching gross anatomy to the PT and graduate students and teaches much of the basic sciences in the medical neuroscience course. She is interested in methods to foster empathy in the gross anatomy lab, novel modalities for students engagement in peer teaching and use of cadaver imaging to support students' cross-sectional anatomical knowledge.
