I was from the sunny city of Los Angeles, California, the crowning jewel of the warm west coast. I finished my master study in neuromuscular sciences in California State Polytechnic University after I got my Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Ohio State University, Columbus.
Deciding to go further in the neuromuscular path, I joined Guo Lab in UW Madison in 2020 as a graduate student to work on projects of genetic modification and skeletal muscle growth. During the first year of my PhD study, the rigorous lab research and coursework have made me more professional in lab techniques and broadened my knowledge in muscle biology, just like the beautiful city of Madison showed me the first heavy snow I've ever seen in last winter. I wish that during my PhD study, I can master the background knowledge and lab skills, as well as build up my scientific thinking and with those I shall prevail in my future career of science.
