Hello! My name is Lauren Murabito (she/her). I am a graduate of the University of Arkansas and have a B.S. in Anthropology. My intial research interest revolved around the evolution of hominin and early human teeth as well as the disappearance of the canine honing complex. In the summer of 2021, I was accepted as an intern for the Summer Opportunities in Anatomy Research at the University of North Texas Health Science Center where I researched the effects of Osteogensis imperfecta on muscle attachment sites in murine models at four, eight, and 16 weeks. The results were fascinating and I am excited to present on them here at EB!
I currently work in Rogers, AR as a Patient Care Coordinator for a local dentist and my goal is to attend dental school. Furthermore, I would like to continue research on genetic disorders that affect the craniofacial morphology of humans in order to help create therapies and a greater understanding of the underlying effects.
I enjoy reading and hiking with my fiancee and husky, Dash. The Northwest Arkansas area offers a lot to do and we try to take advantage of all of the wonderful nature that we are surrounded by. I am an avid plant person that has nearly eight plants in my office alone.
If you see me at EB, please stop by and say hi! I would love to meet and connect!
