Kristopher Hite is a Collegiate Assistant Professor in the Biochemistry Department at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He grew up in Western New York State where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree major in Biochemistry from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 2005. Kristopher worked with Dr. Jeff Hansen at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO where he studied DNA-protein interactions among domains of Methyl CpG Binding Protein 2 (MeCP2) chiefly using Circular Dichroism and Analytical Ultracentrifugation. After receiving his Ph.D. he spent two years as a postdoctoral research and teaching fellow in Atlanta where he conducted research with Dr. Roger Deal in the Biology Department at Emory University and taught genetics at Clark-Atlanta University. Before beginning his work at Virginia Tech, he taught General and Organic Chemistry along with Integrated Science courses at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, CO. Kristopher is also the acting treasurer of his local American Association of University Professors (AAUP) chapter at Virginia Tech.
