I am a Pediatrician and Neonatologist, with primary appointments as Principal Investigator, Center for Perinatal Research at the Abigail Research Institute, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. My long term research goal is to develop a novel treatment to prevent preterm neonatal patients from developing bronchopulmonary dysplasia-associated pulmonary hypertension (BPD-PH). My particular interest is in L-arginine/nitric oxide pathway signaling in BPD-PH, and my lab has NIH K08 support to study dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase-1 (DDAH1) and arginase-1 (ARG1) in human pulmonary vascular co-cultured endothelial and smooth muscle cells, as well as a DDAH1 endothelial conditional knockout mouse.
