Victor Aguilar started in 2018 as a student in the doctorate program of the Richard and Loan Hill Department of
Bioengineering, located at the University of Illinois at Chicago. A graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology (’14) and Cornell University (MS ’17), he has worked with Profs. Benjamin Cosgrove (Cornell) and
Lonnie Shea (University of Michigan) on the use of biomaterials for cellular development studies ex vivo.
He is co-mentored by Profs Irena Levitan (University of Illinois at Chicago) and Richard Minshall (University of
Illinois at Chicago) and is studying the pathological development of vascular formation/angiogenesis in association with the uptake
of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL).
