I am currently a second year PhD student in Dr. Seals Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory which is housed in the Department of Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado Boulder. I have a background in basic biology of aging research from my undergraduate (University od California Santa Cruz) and post-baccalaureate (Buck Institute for Research on Aging) experiences. My basic biology foundation has strengthened my understanding of mechanisms of aging and prepared me for undertaking translational investigations focused on establishing new interventions for improving arterial function with aging. I am currently interested in studying the role of cellular senescence, a fundamental process in aging, in cardiovascular aging. Specifically I study senolytics, compounds that suppress senescent cells, to investigate favorable changes in arterial function with aging.
