Cara Guernsey is an accelerated dual-degree student at the Rochester Institute of Technology, simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering and a Master's in Science, Technology, and Public Policy. Her research in the NanoBio Materials Laboratory at RIT investigates purification techniques for bacterial extracellular vesicles in conjunction with Sepsis diagnosis. Cara is a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society and a recipient of the Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar Award at RIT. In her spare time, she enjoys building racecars with RIT's historically female performance vehicle team, Hot Wheelz.
