Aoife Slyne is a PhD trainee in the Department of Physiology at University College Cork, Ireland, under the supervision of Dr. David Burns and Prof. Ken O’Halloran. Aoife graduated with a first class honours BSc (Hons) in Physiology. She received a Lilly Research Scholarship to pursue doctoral training. Her current research interests include sensorimotor control of breathing in animal models of neuromuscular disease, specifically Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
