I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR, United States, where I investigate the central neural mechanisms underlying thermoregulatory, physiological, and behavioral responses during systemic inflammation, obesity, and environmental challenges. My research is focused on the autonomic neural control of thermoregulation and energy expenditure and on neuroimmune interactions recruited during infections and systemic inflammation. My ultimate goal is to develop an independent research and teaching career focusing on physiology and to discover therapeutic approaches via modulation of the autonomic nervous system to treat life-threatening conditions.
