Natalie Jay is a 5th year PhD candidate in Biochemistry at the University at Buffalo. Natalie received the Presidential Fellowship at UB. Her research is focused on the structural characterization of human CYP24A1 and adrenodoxin. Notable accomplishments include the method development for recombinant expression of hCYP24A1 in a fusion with adrenodoxin. Protein interactions have been investigated using UV-Visible spectroscopy, NMR, activity assays (HPLC) and protein purification methods. In addition, Natalie has searched out opportunities to gain teaching experience, completing the Center for Integrated Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL) certification and working with the Genome, Environment and Microbiome Center of Excellence (GEM).
