Hannah Work is a 3rd year PhD Candidate at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus (CU AMC) pursuing a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She works under the advisory of Dr. Jed Lampe, and her research focuses on cytochrome P450 CYP3A7, the predominant metabolizing enzyme expressed in fetuses and neonates. Her goal is to design neonate-relevant in vitro and in silico models to assess drug administration safety in this fragile patient population. This includes developing a quantitative structure-inhibitory relationship model of CYP3A7 inhibition, as well as testing clinically identified CYP3A7 mutants and determining the effect they have on drug metabolism. Hannah is currently a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS), the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET), and the Biophysical Society (BPS). She is also involved in youth mentoring programs at CU AMC, such as Young Hands in Science Outreach Program, CU Science Discovery Mentoring Program, and the Youth Success Tutoring Program.
