I am a 3rd year PhD candidate in the lab of Dr. Caren Freel Meyers in the department of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. My thesis research focuses on understanding the mechanism and function of the bacterial metabolic enzyme and attractive antibacterial target, DXP Synthase. Long term, my thesis research aims to provide new insight into the DXPS triggering mechanism and advance our understanding of its implications in pathogen metabolic remodeling.
