Beginning her third year as a Nutrition doctoral student at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, Ann Centner plans to graduate in December before pursuing an appointment as a post-doctoral fellow. She grew up in Athens, GA and attended the University of Georgia receiving her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Consumer Foods and Food Science & Technology, respectively. Currently, she studies molecular mechanisms of aging and atherosclerosis using both murine models and cultured vascular smooth muscle cells. She has published two reviews summarizing the effect of polyphenols and whole foods in atherosclerosis and nicotine in senescence/aging and atherosclerosis.
