Tytti-Maria Uurasmaa started her university studies 2014 in University of Turku and received her bachelor’s degree in natural sciences in 2017. She continued in the same university and received her master's degree in biology in 2019 with a thesis on "Effects of exercise on heart function and tumor growth in mice with melanoma". Currently Tytti works as a PhD student in the department of Biology in University of Turku. Her currently ongoing PhD project focuses on the preclinical investigation of the effects of exercise on chemotherapy induced cardiotoxicity and chemotherapy efficacy. Her project has collaborators from the Turku PET center and Karolinska Institute in Stockholm Sweden. She is especially interested in the molecular mechanism involved in calcium channel function, mitochondrial function, oxidative stress and glucose metabolism.
