My name is Gage Stuttgen and I am a 3-year graduate student it Dr. Daisy Sahoo's lab at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In the Sahoo lab, I am interested in understanding how nutrient sensing mechanisms through G protein-coupled receptors influence reverse cholesterol transport and prevent the progression of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. I specifically study Free Fatty Acid Receptor 4 (FFAR4) in macrophages and how activation of this receptor protects against macrophage foam cell formation.
