Graduate Student
Schepens Eye Research Institute, Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Erik Butcher is a graduate student researching metabolic disorders of the eye in Magali Saint-Geniez laboratory at Schepens Eye Research Institute, Mass Eye and Ear Department of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. He is fascinated by the profound and elusive role of mitochondria in wound healing mechanisms of the eye and leverages his robust cross-section of engineering experience to develop automated analytic techniques furnishing large-scale, rapid analysis of projects to complement his bench studies. He currently serves on the International Society for Eye Research (ISER) Young Investigator Leadership committee.
