Bryan C. McCarthy Jr., Pharm.D., M.S., BCPS, is the director of adult inpatient pharmacy services at the University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago, IL. Bryan received his Pharm.D. from the University of Rhode Island, his M.S. in Social and Administrative Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota, and completed a two-year health system pharmacy administration residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. Bryan is also completed his M.J. in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago. He has made multiple contributions to pharmacy literature both as an author and the founding editor of the Journal of Health System Pharmacy Residents, and serves as Contributing Editor for the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy. Bryan serves as the PGY1-2/M.S. Health System Pharmacy Administration Residency Program Coordinator at the University of Chicago Medicine, and an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Chicago State University College of Pharmacy.
Bryan is an active member of ASHP serving on the Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers Advisory Group on Management of the Pharmacy Enterprise, and is an alumni of the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Leadership Academy Class of 2015. He also is the chair of the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists New Practitioner Network.
