Dr. Rebecca Merrill attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate education. She earned her bachelor of science degree in psychology as part of a combined BS/MD program entitled Medical Scholars. She then earned her MD from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. After graduation she completed her residency in emergency medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Merrill has been working as attending staff at Cleveland Clinic Akron General in the emergency department since 2012. She is a clinical associate professor of emergency medicine at NEOMED University and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has served as the clerkship director and is currently the program director for the emergency medicine residency as well as the clinical experiential director for emergency medicine for the M3 year at NEOMED. She has a specific in women in academic medicine and faculty development in the community setting.
