Dr. Nicole McCoin is an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, graduating the top female in her medical school class. She continued as Emergency Medicine Resident at Vanderbilt as well and was selected as one of two Chief Residents following her training. Subsequently, she joined the faculty there, with a special interest in resident education. She served as Vice Chair for Education and Residency Program Director. In addition, during her tenure at Vanderbilt, her leadership spanned the undergraduate and medical school campuses in addition to the medical center. She was a Course Director for Vanderbilt School of Medicine, a member of the Vanderbilt School of Medicine Curriculum 2.0 Steering Committee, Faculty Senator, and a leader in GMEC. She was selected as one of the 2019-2020 Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Fellows as well as one of the 2020 Nashville Women to Watch. She was recruited to Ochsner Medical Center as Chair of Emergency Medicine in September 2020 to transition the department towards an academic mission.
