Debi has been an in-house lawyer at the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) since 2013 when MSHS merged with Continuum Health Partners where she was a generalist handling contracts, employment, patient care, behavioral health and immigration matters. Her focus is now on legal issues in patient care such as consent to treatment and end of life medical decision making. She sits on the Ethics Committees of all Mount Sinai System hospitals.
She served on the Health Care Law Committee of the Bar Association of the City of New York for several years. She also chaired its Subcommittee on Medical Futility which created a Model Policy on Medical Futility.
She is a co-founder and Advisory Board member of the Mount Sinai Medical Legal Partnership which provides free legal assistance to Mount Sinai's most indigent patients. She is also Co-Chair of Concerts in Motion which provides community-based live music and engagement to New York's most isolated individuals, including the homebound elderly and patients in hospitals and nursing homes.
Debi attended Harvard College and NYU Law School. She was an associate at Townley & Updike before going in-house.
