Sree Natesan is an Associate Professor and Associate Program Director in the Duke University Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Surgery. She also serves as Chief Operating Officer for the Academic Life in Emergency Medicine (ALiEM) Faculty Incubator, co-founder of the Duke Graduate Medical Education (GME) Medical Education Leadership Track (MELT) longitudinal program, as well as involved in leadership on various committees including CORD Education Committee, co-Chair of the CORD Best Practices Subcommittee, Chair of CORD Academy for Scholarship Research Pillar, ADIEM, and CORD DEI committee. She was the co-chair for the DEI track at CORD AA22 and for the MedEd scholarship track. Institutionally, she serves as Co-chair of the Duke GME Professional Development committee and the co-chair/founder of the Duke EM Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) committee. She helps extensively in monthly community outreach opportunities for all members of the ED.
Her primary scholarship and research interest and expertise are in clinical teaching and feedback by incorporating innovative novel strategies in the Emergency Department (ED), as well as advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She has broad clinical and research training including Emergency Medicine, ACEP Teaching Fellowship, Academic Life in Emergency Medicine Faculty Incubator Program, AAMC Medical Education Research Certificate Program- Scholar Award, Duke Educational Skills Longitudinal Mentorship Program, Duke Academy for Health Professions Education and Academic Development (AHEAD) Certificate Program, among others. She has shown herself a leader in medical education, having been awarded the CORD Junior Faculty Award, ACEP Junior Faculty Teacher Award, CORD Academy Scholar Award for Teaching and Evaluation as well as institutional teaching and leadership awards within EM. She leads several ongoing studies investigating innovative ways to improve feedback in the ED and has published on feedback and clinical teaching.
