Michael McGreevey joined Otterbein University, as VP for Institutional Advancement in 2015. During his time at the University he has reorganized the Advancement division and led the successful, early completion of the University’s historic $53M Where We STAND Matters Campaign. Additionally, he has provided oversight of key initiatives e.g., launch of a new University website, new institutional branding campaign, a presidential transition, and the hosting of a CNN/New York Times Democratic Presidential Debate.
In addition to overseeing ttraditional areas of philanthropy and engagement, he now oversees Government, Corporate and Community Relations, Board of Trustees, The Point Innovation Center, and Events and Conferences.
He has more than 30 years of experience in higher education administration within advancement, alumni engagement, international education, enrollment and student affairs.
McGreevey came to Otterbein from Wells College in Aurora (NY), where he served as VP for advancement (2008-2015), McGreevey developed a full service advancement program and led the planning and implementation of comprehensive and project campaigns, with $40 million raised during his tenure. He also oversaw a successful annual giving program, raising $2.5 million in unrestricted and budget-applicable dollars per year.
Prior to Wells College, McGreevey worked at Ithaca College in Ithaca (NY), and London, England, from 1988-2008. His positions included senior advisor/chief of staff to the president; director of special programs for Advancement; interim director of alumni relations; director of the Ithaca College London Center; special assistant for enrollment planning; and assistant director for student activities and orientation.
McGreevey has worked in positions at the University of Vermont and Bowling Green State University. He earned his BA in interpersonal and public communication from BGSU; MA in education, higher education and student affairs administration from the University of Vermont; and MS in organizational communication from Ithaca.
He enjoys being active in his professional and local communities.
