Infection Preventionist
St. Luke's Health System - Boise, ID
Boise, ID, United States
Mackinnon is an Infection Preventionist who graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematical Biology and double-minored in Psychology and Pre-Health Studies. After graduating, she dedicated her time and knowledge as a COVID-19 Disease Investigator at the local health department. She continued to grow in the field and joined the Ambulatory Quality Team at the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Idaho. Her current role includes a territory of over 70 clinics ranging from one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country to the rural mountain frontier. The differences in healthcare needs and lifestyles that these clinics cater to is one of the main reasons Mackinnon finds being an IP in the ambulatory setting interesting. Mackinnon is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt professional, which has been beneficial in leading multiple projects that focus to align the ambulatory setting with the national regulatory compliance standards.
