Colonel (COL) Audra L. Taylor attended Howard University on a four year Army ROTC Scholarship and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology in May 1994. She was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Medical Service Corp and was assigned to the 16th Medical Logistics Battalion as a Blood Platoon Leader at Camp Carroll, Korea. COL Taylor earned a Master’s Degree in Health Sciences from the George Washington University and received her Specialist in Blood Banking certification in 2006. She has served in a variety of assignments to include Quality Assurance Officer, Assistant Laboratory Manager, Laboratory Manager, Chief of Blood Services, Commander,
Instructor, Theater Laboratory Consultant (Operation Iraqi Freedom), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program Director, Joint Blood Program Officer (Operation Enduring Freedom) in Central Command, Director (Army Blood Program) and currently serves as the Division Chief for Armed Services Blood Program at the Defense Health Agency in Falls Church, Virginia. She is a representative on the Blood Banks/Transfusion Services Standards Committee, the Standards Program Committee and FDA Liaison Committee. COL Taylor has served as an AABB Assessor since 2008.
