Research Scientist
UL Renewables, New York, United States
Katherine Rojowsky is a Research Scientist with the Grid Services team at UL Renewables and has almost 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. She serves as technical leads on various environmental modeling studies, including:
• fleeting modeling of wind & solar plant generation using NWP for grid integration;
• statistical downscaling & extremes analysis of time series;
• wind & solar site screenings for prospecting; and
• custom modeling studies for various engineering applications (e.g., wind turbine blade & transmission line icing, hydroelectrical energy production estimates).
Her diverse experience with atmospheric instrumentation and data analysis allows her to think "outside the box" and develop creative custom solutions to suit users' sometimes complex needs. She holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Atmospheric Science.
