I have graduated from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine in 1998, and upon completion of my emergency medicine residency at Cook County Hospital (CCH), now the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, in 2002, I began full-time employment at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL. I have completed Maters of Science in Clinical Research from Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, in 2006.
My leadership role within Rush university includes most recent appointment as a Medical Director of Medical Staff office, responsible for credentialing and performance processes for over 1000 medical staff providers with Rush University Medical Center.
I am a Vice chair of Faculty development and Research with the department of Emergency Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. My responsibilities include Academic development of Faculty within Emergency Department. Furthermore, I have been Principal Investigator and co-investigator on several studies and grants. Currently, I am a co-investigator for an NIH study, Development of Co-Morbid PTSD and Chronic Pain among Inner-City Women.
I have been on the board of directors of Illinois College of Emergency Physicians (ICEP), since 2014, and president of ICEP 2017-2018, completing my tenure as a board member in 2019. I am also a chair of Physician and Patient Advocacy committee with ICEP, working closely with legislators on issues pertaining to Emergency Care of our patients and physicians. I am also a PI for several clinical trials through The Strategies to Innovate EmeRgENcy Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN).
I am also involved with American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), and have been Councilor to ACEP for the last 6 years.
