Carly Eastin is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. There, she co-chairs the Division of Research and Evidence Based Medicine for the Department of Emergency Medicine, is the course director for the College of Medicine's EBM course for pre-clinical students, and is the faculty leader for the EM residency's journal club. Her research interests include quality improvement, scholarly activity, and implementing best practices. Clinically, she works at UAMS, the adult trauma/tertiary care center, as well as Arkansas Children's Hospital, the pediatric trauma/tertiary care center. She completed medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine and residency and chief year at Indiana University Emergency Medicine. After a year as Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University, Carly joined University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2013.
For SAEM, Carly is the current chair of the Evidence Based Healthcare & Implementation Interest Group and is a member of the Virtual Presence Committee. She is also the section editor for the Abstracts section of the Journal of Emergency Medicine.
