Dr. Amber Sabbatini is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Health Systems and Population Health at the University of Washington who has expertise in using claims and administrative datasets to understand how the delivery of emergency care affects patient outcomes, resource utilization, and quality. Her current work focuses on evaluating the impacts of payment and delivery reforms on hospital care for public payer populations. Dr. Sabbatini previously completed a K12 in Patient-Centered Outcomes Research. She is currently the PI of 2 NIH awards, including one from NIMH (R34) to study the impacts of Washington’s experience with health information exchange on outcomes for Medicaid enrollees with frequent ED use, and another from NIA (R01) to examine spillover effects of Medicare’s Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program on older adults with observation stays.
