Ellen Stein, MD, FACG, has a special focus in gastrointestinal motility disorders. She has given national and international lectures and published book chapters and research studies on esophageal and other motility disorders. She spent more than a decade working at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore as core faculty in the Motility Program. She has also previously served as Clinical Director of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Gastroenterology Division. Recently, Dr. Stein moved to New Jersey to be the Director of Motility at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She is an Associate Professor in the Gastroenterology Division and is building the Rutgers Motility program. She was board certified Gastroenterology initially in 2010, and she is actively participating in Maintenance of Certification with the ABIM. She has served on leadership committees for the ACG, AGA, and the American Foregut Society.
