Elizabeth Santschi, DVM, DACVS, completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Illinois, College of Agriculture. She then completed her D.V.M. at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a further internship at North Carolina State University and Residency at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, FL. Her research interests include the biomechanical causes and treatments for subchondral bone lucencies of young horses, as well as the prevalence and causes of stifle osteochondrosis. Dr. Santschi’s clinical interests include orthopedic diseases of juvenile horses, and performance horse injury and fracture repair.
