Shelly Leacock is a Biomedical Engineer in the Veterans Health Administration with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Saint Louis University and an Masters of Science in Healthcare Technology Management from Marquette University. Mrs. Leacock has certifications in Project Management (PMP and FAC-PPM) and is a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE). She has worked for Veterans Health Administration (VHA) since 2004 at the local facility level in Portland, Oregon, the VISN level in VISN 23, and the national level Healthcare Technology Management Program Office. Mrs. Leacock serves on several external professional committees and societies including the AAMI Equipment Management Standards Committee, the ECRI Health Devices Board, and the NFPA 99 Medical Equpment Committee. Mrs. Leacock has been recognized for her achievements in furthering patient safety in HTM through several awards including the AAMI Becton Dickinson Patient Safety Award (2019), the ACCE / HTF Marv Shepherd Patient Safety Award (2019), the local St. Louis area Excellence in Government Award (2018) and the AAMI Young Professional Award (2014).
