Speech Language Pathologist/Analyst

LCDR Carla Chase has been a PHS officer for 11 years and a speech pathologist for over 21 years. She is currently stationed at Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a health analyst and primarily functions as a senior health insurance specialist. She liaise across Medicare Shared Savings Program and the Quality Payment Program to align the requirements for reporting quality health data to improve overall health care. Prior to transferring to CMS she worked with service members diagnosed with traumatic brain injury (TBI) in multiple military treatment facilities, as well as at the TBI Center of Excellence in the Office of Outcomes. LCDR Chase holds a clinical doctorate in speech pathology from the Nova Southeastern University, a masters in speech pathology from Florida State University, and a bachelors in communication disorders from Lamar University. She is interested in informing other medical professions of the skills and services speech language pathologists can provide to individuals diagnosed with COVID-19, silent hypoxia, and dysphagia.
