Lieutenant Colonel Danielle Holt is a general surgeon currently assigned as the Division Chief of General Surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Uniformed Services University. LTC Holt is the President of the Excelsior Surgical Society, the military chapter supported by the Military Health System Strategic Partnership with the American College of Surgeons (MHSSPACS). Originally from Bridgewater, Massachusetts, she was commissioned from ROTC while completing her undergraduate degree at Harvard University. LTC Holt went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University. She is a graduate of the U.S. Army Medical Department Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College.
LTC Holt completed her post graduate training in general surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. Her previous assignments include Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, Alaska, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, Texas, as well as the Chief of the Department of Surgery at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Her awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Parachutist Badge, The Surgeon General’s “A” Designator for clinical excellence, the Order of the Military Medical Merit and others.
