MAJ Joshua D. Lawler, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CEN is currenty a U.S. Army Family Nurse Practitioner (66P) serving at Moncrief Army Health Clinic, Fort Jackson, SC. He entered service in 2005 as a Health Care Specialist (91W) for the U.S. Army Reserve and subsequently enrolled in Army ROTC at the University of Arkansas. He came on active duty in 2010, after graduating cum laude with a BSN, and began his nursing career as a medical-surgical nurse (66H) in San Antonio, TX at Brooke Army Health Center. After his initial tour, he became an assistant clinical nurse officer in charge (ACNOIC) then clinical nurse supervisor and CNOIC at Munson Army Health Center in Fort Leavenworth, KS. He returned to the bedside in 2016 as an emergency room nurse (66T) for Madigan Army Health Center at JBLM, WA. After selection for Long Term Health Education and Training (LTHET), he attended and graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO with his DNP in 2021. MAJ Lawler was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Expert Field Medical Badge, the Air Assault Badge and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Silver). He is a member of AMSUS since 2021. He resides at Fort Jackson, SC with his wife, three children, and dog (Whisky).
