Christopher J. Scheiber, M.D. is the Battalion Surgeon for 2d Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC). Dr. Scheiber is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commwealth University (VCU). He completed a General Surgery Internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Following this he operated as a General Medical Officer in the Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic conducting research and several global health engagements in addition to his patient care responsibilities. Following his time at Walter Reed, Dr. Scheiber graduated from the Undersea Medical Officer Candidate program through the Naval Undersea Medical Institute and the Dive Medical Officer program through the Navy Diving and Salvage Training Center, Panama City, FL. Following this he was selected for his current billet at 2d Marine Raider Battalion where he has served both home and abroad in the capacity of Battalion Surgeon, Undersea Medical Officer and Senior Medical Officer. Dr. Scheiber is currently conducting several projects investigating deployed medicine, human performance and whole blood products.
