Angela Thorp Rathmann has been in the veterinary field for over 30 years, obtaining her CVT in 1990. She obtained her AAS in Veterinary Technology through DEVTP and entered into Emergency & Critical Care medicine in 1995. She went on to obtain her VTS in Emergency & Critical Care in 2001 and was the first to attain this certification in the state of Arizona. She is a charter member of the Academy of Veterinary Internal Medicine Technicians (AIMVT) since 2008. She a past president of the previous state technician association in Arizona and has served as the chair for the exam committee of AVECCT and served as Executive Secretary of AVECCT for 7 years as well as a Domain Chair of the AVECCT Nursing Standards Committee for 3 years. Angela has also served as the NAVTA State Representative for Arizona. She was awarded the Technician of the Year in 2001 from the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. She has lectured internationally since 2003. Angela is well published in several books and journals since 2011, including being co-editor of a book released in December 2016. She currently is the Chief Veterinary Nursing Officer at Yavapai Emergency Animal Hospital in Prescott Valley, Arizona where she oversees training and nursing care standards. Angela Thorp lives in Dewey, Arizona, daughter, horses, and furkids.
