Jillian Nelson is the senior director of annual giving at Illinois State Univeristy and has served in leadership roles at the university since 2014. Prior to her current role, she served as the director of stewardship and donor relations at Illinois State. During her tenure, Nelson directed the successful Redbirds Rising campaign launch, created “Thank-A-Donor Days,” and redesigned Illinois State’s giving society structure, including such initiatives as President’s Chats, 1857 Society Tasty Tour, Heritage Society Lunch & Learn, Greet our Grads, Loyalty Circle breakfast reception, and President’s Circle digital impact report. She previously served at Bradley University, James Madison University and with the American Red Cross during her 15-year advancement career. Nelson graduated with an MBA from James Madison University in Virginia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and public relations from Bradley University.
