David A. Dulio is Professor of Political Science and Director of the Center for Civic Engagement at Oakland University. In his role as director of the Center for Civic Engagement, Dave leads efforts that take important issues of public concern and public policy out of the classroom and actively engages many different stakeholders — including alumni, students, faculty, policy makers and community members — in non-partisan, deliberative and productive dialogue. He teaches courses on campaigns and elections, Congress, political parties, interest groups, and other areas of American politics and has written dozens of books, articles and book chapters on subjects ranging from the role of professional consultants in U.S. elections to campaign finance.
