Theresa M. Law, JD, CFRE is currently the Executive Vice President of Student and Donor Engagement for New Mexico Highlands University, a public comprehensive University with an enrollment of approximately 2700, and Executive Director of the NMHU Foundation. Theresa is a native of Jeannette, Pennsylvania and earned her bachelor’s degree in government and international relations from the University of Notre Dame and her juris doctor, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School.
She was admitted to the State of Illinois Bar in 1994 and practiced for several years as supervising attorney for Association House Legal Services in Chicago. Upon transitioning to philanthropy, Theresa joined the national office of the Alzheimer’s Association, and subsequently held leadership roles in philanthropy at Valparaiso University, Greater Baltimore Medical Center, WellSpan Health, and Thiel College before coming to NMHU. Theresa has successfully led fundraising efforts of up to $60 million, and has had executive responsibility for multiple Foundations and nonprofits. Additionally, Theresa has served as adjunct faculty at Goucher College, and is a frequent regional and national presenter with AFP, CASE, and AHP.
Theresa lives in Santa Fe with her husband, Robert, son, Ulysses, and two Labrador retrievers, Cappuccino and Ginger.
