MAJ April Frye, PA-C, MPAS, DMSc Fellow has served as the Medical Standards Officer in the Army National Guard Chief Surgeon's Office located at National Guard Bureau for the past two and a half years. She was recently reassigned to a new position at the Office of the Surgeon General located in Falls Church, VA as the new Army National Guard Credentialing and Privileging Quality Assurance and Safety Officer beginning in early January 2022. She has served in the Army National Guard for over 20 years and has 10 years of clinical experience as a physician assistant. MAJ Frye received her commission in the Reserved Officer Training Corps in 2007 while simultaneously graduating from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's of science in cellular and molecular biology. She subsequently attended the Interservice Physician Assistant Program in 2009 and received her bachelor's in physician assistant studies and masters in physician assistant studies. MAJ Frye is now currently in the final term of her 12-month doctorate of medical science program at the University of Lynchburg in Virginia. Her highest level of completed military education is the Command and General Staff Officer College. Her previous clinical experience includes the fast track of the emergency department, urgent care, and family medicine. MAJ Frye additionally served as the 1-124 cavalry squadron physician assistant in 2018 while deployed to Sinai, Egypt for five and a half months where she provided Role II+ care to patients for the Multinational Force and Observers peacekeeping mission. Previous military assignments as a physician assistant include 3-133 Field Artillery located in El Paso, TX for 7 years and 162nd Medical Company Area Support located at Camp Bullis, TX for 3 months prior to her assignment at National Guard Bureau.
