I joined the Grimsby Public Library in the Fall of 2018. I had one year of 'business as usual' before the pandemic and then needed to quickly adapt children's services to a new-to-me virtual environment. It has been an interesting and challenging journey, with the greatest reward being the opportunity to reach out to colleagues at other library systems and develop new initiatives together. Working alone in children's services at a small library, I have discovered that these relationships can help keep me grounded and professionally inspired.
